Frattini: Montenengro made notable progress towards EU and NATO membership

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Igor Lukšić hosted earlier today Franco Frattini, President of the Italian Society for International Organisation (SIOI).

Mr Frattini noted Montenegro has made notable progress towards EU and NATO membership and encouraged the country to continue working towards meeting these objectives.

He commended the Fourth strategic seminar in Budva as a good opportunity to exchange opinions on the ways to strengthen stability and security in the region.

DPM Lukšić underscored the importance of Italy’s continued support to reforms processes in Montenegro, especially those related to the ambitions for European and Euro-Atlantic membership.
