Azerbaijan: Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov meets Frattini

On October 3, Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov met with Franco Frattini, former Foreign Minister of Italy, member of Italian Chamber of Deputies and foreign relations coordinator of the European People's Party.

News.Az reports quoting the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan.

Welcoming him to Azerbaijan Minister Elmar Mammadyarov said he was pleased with developing bilateral ties between Azerbaijan and Italy. Minister Mammadyarov stressed the need to intensify mutual high level visits, notably the parliamentary contacts with a view to strengthening this bilateral relationship.

Italian former Foreign Minister Frattini said he was pleased to visit Azerbaijan and emphasized Azerbaijan's contributions to the European energy security as well as maintaining international security. He went on to say that he was glad to see Azerbaijan's achievements on the way towards Euro-Atlantic integration and stressed the need to enhance Azerbaijan-EU partnership.
