Al Jazeera: Western nations feeling “fatigued” over the ongoing tensions in Syria
Al Jazeera’s David Foster speaks to Franco Frattini, foreign Italian foreign minister, about claims of Western nations feeling “fatigued” over the ongoing tensions in Syria. Frattini, foreign minister during the NATO-led intervention in Libya against forces loyal to Muammar Gaddafi, says more observers are needed to monitor the reported violence on the ground. Currently, under a joint plan laid out by the UN and the Arab League, moves are under way to send 300 observers to monitor the situation in Syria, but Frattini calls for over three times as many observers to be despatched.
